No, we're not going to try to machine the end plates for each card as it
would be very expensive to do so. If anyone *does* do that, it would be
great to post the mechanical drawing so others could drill their own.
If you want to stabilize the cards, the idea is to use some sort of
adhesive backed compressible material (like weatherstripping) on the
inside of the top "hatch". When the hatch is tightened down, that will
hold the cards in place.
However, I have to admit that I haven't actually done that yet myself.
BTW -- we thought about some sort of bracket with either plastic or
metal fingers to hold the top of the cards, but not all of the boards
have enough component/trace clearance on the top edge to allow that.
