Random thought:
How hard would it be to have unpopulated PCB on Hermes for a small Ethernet Hub, if required, to address the one ethernet port per laptop issue?
Sounds like hard work.

A lot of laptops have wireless now anyway, and some ADSL/wifi dongles can be used over USB.
