Hello group,
having had some spare time today I did some more design studies.
Here is one showing the ATLAS board with six cards connected by
an I/O bus cable which is another possibility of using either the B type
DIN connectors or the SCSI III connectors:

This is a board design with a B type DIN connector (Eric, no DB9
connector anymore because you don't seam to like it):

and here comes the design which is favoured by AA4SW. It has the
68 pin SCSI III connector (either 90 degrees or 180 degrees type). Like
SCSI hard drives everything is a little more expensive than normal, especially
the IDC ribbon cable connectors (that's for the SCSI exclusivity).

Now it's the specialist's choice to pick one.
