Don

Although I am currently not seeing this bounce, I would like to thank you
again for your rapid response to communications problems. The Reflector you
have provided to 'our village', called HPSDR, is at the top of the
'inverted' pyramid which will allow HPSDR to succeed or fail.

Sincerely
Eric

Subject: Comcast email addresses - bounces

To all list members using comcast.net addresses:

This message may not get through to you since it appears that Comcast is
rejecting email from the server(s) that we use for our HPSDR list.
Hopefully this is just a temporary condition and will clear itself shortly.

Mailman software that we use for this discussion list keeps individual
"scores" of bounces (bounces here meaning getting a rejection notice
from the addressee's ISP) -- you can see if you've had any recent
bounces by looking at your subscription info page on the web. I've
found most comcast.net subscription addresses have either a score of 1.0
or 2.0 at this moment, indicating bounces on 1 or 2 days within the past
week.

So here's what you can do:

1. Go periodically to the list archives (address at bottom of all our
list traffic) to see what you've missed, if anything.

2. If you receive notice that your subscription was disabled due to too
many bounces, go into your subscription record and re-enable it. It
will tell you how.

3. You can always subscribe a second time to an alternate non-comcast
address.

I'm sorry for any problem like this, but there is little I can do. I
don't know for sure in this case, but usually what has happened is that
a service provider such as Comcast (or Earthlink, or ???) will
unfortunately rely on various blacklist outfits who provide lists of
server IP addresses sending spam. There are thousands who use the same
mail server as we do with HPSDR list and all it takes is just one to
send to a spam-trap address and the whole server gets blacklisted for a
period of time.

As always, if you have list email problems, write to me directly and
I'll check into the problem and we can work together to resolve it.

Don, AE5K

This email will be sent also individually directly to each comcast.net
addressee so it is possible you may receive two copies.
