[hpsdr] Introductory Books SDR

George,
Like you, I am also in the pursue of learning DSP. In addition to Lyons,
as Jonathan has suggested, I recently found two good books. Both are
more oriented towards embedded designs, but the information presented is
also very valuable for software development in any platform.
DSP Software Development Techniques for Embedded and Real-Time Systems,
by Robert Oshana
The DSP Handbook, by Andrew Bateman, Iain Paterson-Stephens
Another excelent book is Digital Signal Processing in Communication
Systems, by Marvin E. Frerking
It is also very valuable to learn some simulation software to tinker
with the various algorithms. I use GNU Octave and Scilab.
