hi All,
My junk box will support Atals but the future stuff I prefer a kit to save the time of doing multiple orders. I wonder if it is safe to assume TAPR will be doing kits so I
can change my board orders here to kit orders at TAPR??

I just finished reading 3 days of lo talk and lots of good ideas flowing. My last home brew I did this little ZBIT oscillator running 600 MHz to 1200 MHz with a built in divide by 4. Then I did an external divide by 4 to get 37.5 to 75 mhz LO. This worked well.

I have schematics of fractional n synthesizers for the TCI 8174, Harris RF590A and Racal RA6830 if anyone wants to see how they did it. Each used a house LSI control chip though.
Notice Oleg used a divide by n then divide by 2 after his VCO. This could be used to limit the range of the vco. Racal does 0 to 20 volts on 40 to 71 MHz. There is a spot in the loop where a 2.5 volt reference is generated. The noise on that signal modulates the loop. gfz
