Rick & Steve,
I'm happy to coordinate the activity for GIBRALTAR. One question for both of you is going to be surrounding your artwork and interface circutry. What is your preferred licencing for usage of the IP for this project?

Steve,

I recommend that we plan for a primary and a backup GPS timing engine. In my
commercial product, the CNS Clock II, I now use overlaying footprints for an
M12 (Motorola M12+ or iLotus M12M) and a Trimble Resolution-T. The Trimble
is less expensive than the M12+ or M12M and uses a different set of
languages (TSIP and TAIP plus NMEA) but it has all the right features,
including the quantization (sawtooth) correction data. See
http://www.trimble.com/resolutiont.shtml.

I will commit to updating the Tac32 family of software products to support
the Resolution-T in a timely fashion, as I need to do that sooner or later
anyway.

I will make available the artwork and interface circuitry from my commercial
product to simplify the development of this board, if you like. Perhaps I
could do more but I am still trying figure out who is doing what and to
evaluate the options for my participation on this project.

I have an account with Trimble and will procure any number of these
receivers for the project at cost if that is interesting. I will need to get
updated price information.

Hi Chris,

Yep, Achim mentioned this a couple of days ago on this list. It is
expensive at $179.00 each. But it is a possibility. The only other thing
to consider is the software to configure and run it, such as TAC32 does for
Motorola and Garmins.
