[hpsdr] HPSDR with Sasquatch = USB sound card (?)

It seems to me that HPSDR with Saquatch (and OZY of course) could be made 
to look like a USB sound card. Has this been envisaged already? It could be 
useful for employing existing sound card based ham software such as TNCs, 
SSTV, CW, Weather FAX, beacon monitoring etc. I know all this stuff can be 
implemented as SDR but we'd have to wait for implementations. Also, a boat 
anchor PC would then be sufficient for these purposes. I guess that I/Q in 
and out and straight audio in and out would be separate logical sound 
devices, with control I/O via a separate logical device again. Forgive me 
if I'm stating the dead obvious here - I'm not familiar with USB innards.
