Hi Ahti/Marco!

Thank you folks so very much for your Reflector contributions! We should
change the subject from PING, to response.

I got involved in all of this by volunteering for a Boy Scout Summer Camp
contest to decode wig-wag, in 1954. I figured at the age of 11, that being
acquainted with my uncle W2NYU, that I would 'raise my hand' when they asked
"Does anyone know a Ham Radio Operator, or Morse code?". I tried to decipher
the 'moriesse's code' via 'wig-wag' and failed miserably! Just couldn't look
it up in the handbook fast enough! I am still 'slow' but READ and UNDERSTAND
a LOT.

In part due to embarrassment, and secondly utter fascination that a word
could be deciphered that way, I am still here. I still love CW, and still
love the fascinating folks I meet from all over the world, via any form of
communications, and still love LEARNING the magic of communications! I AM
still that KID trying to look up the meaning from the manual, or Marco's
URL, or how a power supply is built. I will be that same somewhat
'untalented boy scout' trying to 'look into the future from the past'. With
the help of all you incredible designers and testers', you ARE bringing us
into the future and looking at the past. With Incredible new hardware which
enables software which is the future dimension!

There are, from Don's estimate 650 folks subscribed to this reflector. I am
sure that, like yourselves; they are some of the best designers in the
world, and probably a few commercial spys lurking! Please click "Reply to
All" so your contribution can make it back to this reflector!

The physics of HF have not changed that much (IMHO) the hardware resources
sure have! I can Google with the best!

Marco: Thanks for the 'teaching' in your link, pointed to by Ahti!

Hi all,

I'm still working on it, with the aim of improving the behaviour at 50 MHz.

I received an E-MU 1616m just saturday, and will do some more work on
in in next weeks. I would say that the IQSD is ok, the improvements
will be marginal now; we need an LO to go with it. AD announced the
AD9912 - 1 GHz 14 dds with spurious cancellation. Who will be the
first to try it?
