[hpsdr] RF-Shielding, more interesting reading.....

Hi All, 
 
NOT related to ALEX Call for comment or any shielding thereof........
 
Just interesting to see and maybe learn something.......
 
Although this is about shielding gaskets, the presented theory also applies
for shielding in general.
 
Particular interesting is the diagram presented in figure 5, wrt. the
contribution of absorption loss to the total shielding effectiveness. 
 
According to this manufacturer ferromagnetic materials (iron in this case)
seem to work better in this respect below about 3 - 4 GHz (Curve 1 versus
curve 2) ?
 
Note that these are theoretical loss values (calculated with the presented
formula's) and practical values will be lower, depending on the actual
situation.
