I just checked out sdr-shell. It is really great! I had only seen its
predecessor dttsp-shell. Thanks Edson.

I think there were afew suggestions on that on this list before. If I
remember, we have an ALSA developer on the list. Perhaps it is quite
possible.

It will be much simpler to write a I/O plugin (like gr-alsa or gr-jack
in gnuradio) than hack ALSA itself to do the job. But I may be wrong.

Yes, Perhaps I mixed them because I was thinking for the past couple
of days about GUIs and tried to write a bit of code and found it a bit
too hard to do GUI programming. :-) May be because I have never done
it so far in my programming life.

I just completed my softrock v6.2. It recieves just fine on my
soundcard. Now I have to hook it up with A/J/O.
