Whilst at Dayton I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Dishop of Dishtronix.
Mike was exhibiting a state-of-the-art solid state QRO linear amplifier (
http://www.dishtronix.com ). His design has a number of unique features, a
number of which are patent pending.

Mike's amplifier consist of a number of 600w modules that are combined
together to provide 2.4 kW of output.

I suggested to Mike that he may like to offer the 600W module as a stand
alone amplifier assembly, including SMPS PSU, Low pass filters, T/R
switching, etc for use with Penelope as a high power linear amplifier.
Mike's can provide a module that only requires 1W of drive and since we can
provide all the
control signals he needs from Penelope and Ozy it is well matched to our
needs.

The 600W module has the following specification:

- Completely self contained with integral low noise Switch Mode PSU, 110 -
240v ac input
- Integrates with Penelope and Ozy for all command and control signals
- Frequency coverage 160m-6m.
- Output power 600W PEP
- Third Order Intermod at 600W -36dB below PEP
- Drive power 1W PEP nominal
- Harmonic output at 600w > 46 dB down
- Tx/Rx time (using antenna relay) 10-20mS, (8mS with vacuum relay
option) , (3mS with PIN diode option)
- Integrated SWR sensor, T/R system (SO239 for antenna, BNC for receiver),
High capacity cooling fan.
- Size 10 x 12 x 12 (HWD), estimated..
- Availability - approximately 3 months from order
- Price - $1,500 - $2,000 depending on total number ordered, final
specification features, etc.

Mike will answer any questions relating to the module on this reflector.
We will shortly be adding a facility to www.hamsdr.com to enable you to
express interest in purchasing one of Mike's amplifiers.

I have no connection with Dishtronix - I'd just like one of his modules!
