I checked out elenco power supplies after DennisB's recommendation.  (I listened to old 70's music while I did this.)

I decided to order a HP-720 kit after checking the supplies out.  I can use one of these anyway for other things even after Demeter replaces it for the HPSDR.  ...and the price is right (~$50) for replacing the kludged system I have right now on my bench.
 
I thought I would pass on some N5ESE mods to this unit I found on the web.  Adding a DPM, as he does, will be useful.
