[hpsdr] HPSDR Ethernet interface

Hi All,
 
I don't know if this is just more complicated or not, but what about using
standard COTS (Gigabit-) Ethernet cards with some kind of "(reduced
functionality-) emulated PCI-interface/-bridge" in an FPGA-or-something
adapter-board, interfacing to Atlas/Ozy ?
 
Just a thought....
