Why does it have to be dumb? Why not a smart card with electrically operated 
tracking filters with variable bandwidth? And a DC to light range?

How will features such as dual receive, general coverage, transverters, 
spectrum analysis, etc., be impaired with such a limited design. Bypassing 
the card only means that some other filters will need to be used.

Sorry to be so critical, but this card just doesn't seem to line up with what 
I would consider a state of the art, High Performance Software Defined Radio 
(HPSDR) should be. But, that's just one man's opinion. :-)
