Warren!

Well, you are right, about complex. I googled around a little and found this
Master's Thesis which probably should apply to Atlas. I got to about page 88
scanning the headers, and said "Awww, he had to start the arithmetic stuff".
His bottom line was still that FPGA implementation of GB offers a lot of
custom flexibility over prepackaged solutions.

Gig sure is a challenge! Looks like we could do 10 on Ozy right now, if
there is room in the FPGA. Phil has several headers on the OZY board that I
was looking at the other day with regard to bringing Alex off Atlas. (I'm
totally confused by the schematic regarding HDR1 - 2 without the silkscreen)
It would seem that we could punch down an Ethernet connector to a Keystone
jack mounted on Pandora's butt and do 10 BT in firmware.

Not trying to throw any cold water on this! Just enjoying Googling again.
Youse guys always wet my appetite for learning, with your fabulous ideas!
Just have to go back to college and take Calculus again. I never thought I'd
find it useful in 'real life' so 'wrote it of to just getting the grade'.

Go FOR IT!

Thanks

Eric

No problem Eric,

I'm used to the design process, and a Devil's Advocate is helpful.

GbE is not overly difficult, but I believe it will not be cost effective. A
10/100BT interface should be less costly.

In any case, this should start the process going.
