GUI interface board in mind while detailed design progresses on Sasquatch.

No, that means that the DSP has to support a host mode USB interface.
That would be a huge processing load.
 
We need something simple, and with enough bandwidth to handle what we
need.  I suspect what we need is just a spectrum display with not more
than 320 bins (assuming a QVGA display,it only has 320 horizontal
pixels, perhaps 8 bits of amplitude information (gives 256 levels,
display is less than this verticaly) -- and 4  bits may be enough for a
bandscope display - and refreshed perhaps 20 times/second.  This is only
(320*8*20 = ) 51,200 bits/sec.  Easy to do on SPI or I2C.  SPI is
simpler, but the DSP chip has both interfaces built-in and I suspect the
ARM chip will as well.  Have to see which of them are actually available
after all the necessary stuff gets attached for its DSP mission, though,
since the peripheral pins are multiplexed...
