Phil:

Very good and "Carry ON". I am looking forward to trying out some
ideas on adaptive antenna array phasing once you have given birth, but no
great hurry on my part.

Subject: Re: [hpsdr] Status of Mercury?

Hi Les,

This is the current status of Mercury. I have a breadboard prototype of the
complete receiver working - see photo on the Wiki. The performance figures
that I have measured agree with the calculations on the Wiki.

We have decided to use the latest Altera Cyclone III FPGAs and have been
able to source some samples. The use of this larger FPGA will give us
plenty of room to experiment in the future. At the moment we are expecting
to deliver a 10kHz - 55MHz receiver , actually a fully independent dual
receiver version, and spectrum analyzer by the end of the year.

We should be going to Alpha PCB in the next few months - with additional PCB
design resources we could bring this time line forward significantly.

The Alpha PCB of Penelope has been tested and works fine, Lyle KK7P is
presently working on the Alpha 2 PCB layout.
