Great news!  And being self-contained, this may provide the incentive to 
move the discussion on from mostly hardware or mostly tools or mostly OS or 
general infrastructure  .... to the actual unique to amateur radio 
software.  The stuff that processes our signals!

Not so in my experience.  High Performance Software is what Defines a 
Radio.  The biggest opportunity to differentiate is in seriously superior 
signal processing software - produced for the real needs of active users of 
amateur radio and produced with emphasis on TLC and not profit margin.  And 
being quite a bit better than JA is not difficult.  Vastly superior would 
be the goal that gets my vote.

Lyle, you have the background and the track record.  And you have the forum
