Happy to report that my Mercury arrived today and works great.  Kudos to the HPSDR team...  it feels great to stand on the shoulders of giants like you folks. 
 
There was one issue I ran into that may help others.  I needed to delete the PowerSDR.mdb file before Mercury would come up properly.  Prior to doing that Mercury was receiving something from somewhere but it was not on frequency. I played around quite a bit with PowerSDR before Mercury arrived and must have left some configuration artifact that Mercury or the latest software revision didn't like.  I saved the old mdb file if anyone wants to dig into this. 
 
Now on to integrate Penelope and a 100w brick I have laying around....  see you on the air!
