Hi Jeff,

The 2209 really doesn't buy you anything unless you run it at its 
higher rated speed.  Phil actually tested a 2209 on Mercury at 155MHz 
and the result was not as good as the LTC2208. The number and level 
of the spurs was greater and the 2209 ran much hotter at the higher 
frequency. Actually *very* much hotter.

While you can electrically and physically fit a 2209 to Mercury, you 
will have to address these issues to make it functional.

TAPR will offer Mercury with the 2208, as it provides excellent 
performance at 122.88MHz conversion and costs *much* less than the 2209.
