Hi Bill (KD5TFD), all,
after initial table tests with Atlas-Ozy-Mercury-Penelope, loading the
latest firmware and having also a few QSOs in this open setup I
assembled the whole transceiver together with the power supplies and a
class A 10W driver amplifier in a FLEX-5000A like housing (Schroff
company) and it works fine. Thanks again to all hard- and software
developers, great!
Penelope output is woderfully linear, as reported earlier,
Mercury/Panadapter baseline clean, Level calibration OK, automatic
frequency calibration basically OK; a few Hz of deviation present
compared to broadcast stations whose accuracy is of the order of 10^-9
(DW at 6075 kHz). There were reasons already discussed in the reflector,
I know.
Frequency calibration could be done better I think in case the
"Frequency Correction Factor" in the Setup could be changed MANUALLY
(there are enough digits behind the comma), tuning to 6075 kHz and
adjusting the beat frequency to zero in DSB mode (scope or phase
Panadapter Mode).
Bill, why don't you allow for manual Frequency Correction Factor
changes, isn't it possible??
Thanks, Hans, DL2MDQ.
