The other thing you have to bear in mind is that Mercury uses a 32 bit
tuning word 

(this could be improved in firmware of course)

 

This can be compensated for, however, if you know how the tuning works.

 

For example when you set mercury to 3 577 400.000  (and PowerSDR is set for
9 kHz offset)

 

you are actually on 3 577 399.972916  assuming a perfect clock frequency.

 

So even if your clock is within 2 milli-hertz, you could have ten times
this error from the tuning step.
