I succeeded in reprogramming Mercury with FW V2.6, using the USB Blaster emulation code.
Now 26 is correctly displayed in the relevant PowerSDR panel.
Running at 192 kHz produces glitches, with all buffer sizes. Setting the sampling rate at 96 kHz,
things are much better, but every few seconds there is an aural "tick" with a visual glitch, which I have captured.

you will see a couple of tests I have done. The increase of the background level when passing from -70 dBm to -20 dBm
I don't think is a fault of Mercury, but rather of the W&G generator used. But the real annoying thing is that glitch, 
that, when actually receiving on HF can be masked by the band noise, but with a generator is clearly perceptible.
