I did that: the result is similar -

    sometimes it runs part way and crashes (Checking for VID PID...)
    sometimes it crashes right away (usb_get_busses ... an error occurred: 
Object .....)

I switched to a different USB cable and different ports on the computer; no 
change.

I also tried slowing the CPU down from 2.6 GHz to 1.6 GHz (quad core); no 
change (just slower)
