Hello Phil,

Will, I am very, very very interested!
More information how to make that work would be very welcome!
Who is the brave OM or YL who realized such a real twin receiver?

Hi Ben,

Your wishes may be granted sooner than you think! One of our members
already has two phase locked (and time locked) Mercury receivers running on
the one Atlas bus. More details in the near future.

The work by PA0SIM sounds most interesting and it would be relatively
straightforward to implement this technique with multiple Mercury receivers.

It is quite possible to use multiple ADC, suitably time sequenced, to
improve the dynamic range. In fact the Rigol range of 1GSa/s Digital
Oscilloscopes uses this technique to produce a low cost 'scope with very
high sampling rate by using cascaded, cheap, low sampling rate ADCs.

>From what I can gather talking to the current ADC suppliers, since their
main customers are cellular base receiver manufacturers, their goal is to
increase sampling rates rather than increase the number of effective bits in
the ADC.

The modular (i.e. Atlas bus) nature of the openHPSR design will allow us to
experiment with some of these techniques without the need to invest in a
completely new radio.
