Phil,

    thanks. I was under the impression that the limit was dictated by 
the serial protocol between Mercury and Ozy, which did not allowed 
speeds much greater than
the 192 kHz presently used.

The USB port has surely the capability to transfer 2 x 24 bits at 4 MHz, 
as demonstrated by the recent tests done on the QS1r, using Winrad on 
the PC.
And, to answer to Graham, nobody cares about the quality of the 
programs... what the MWLs do is to record during nighttime the entire MW 
chunk,
to identify all the IDs given at the top of the hours by MW stations of 
North and South America, or Asia. Chasing MW DXs is a rather diffused 
sport,
especially in North Europe... In Finland, if memory serves, they have 
listening posts with many beverages aimed in various directions.
