I don't run ghpsdr on Linux, so I can't comment on specifics.  I've  
never set it up.  That being said, I am fairly familiar with  
significant pieces of the code.

The Mercury software version is sent in regular intervals in the  
command and control headers from Ozy/Magister.  ghpsdr will only  
display this version number on stdout if it thinks it has changed  
since last time it has seen it.  If you're seeing it repeatedly, it  
indicates that something is pretty wrong with reading packets off of  
USB.

Have you downloaded the Linux version of the Ozy Utils and uploaded  
the FX2 and FPGA firmware to Ozy before starting ghpsdr?  Ozy's  
firmware is not stored on the card, so you have to reinitialize it  
every time you power-cycle the card.
