Hi All,
A bouble balanced mixer and diplexer will need an RF stage to make up for the conversion loss or the MDS will suffer. The mixer needs a broadband 50 ohm load on the IF port. Good gain distribution and termination should not degrate Mercury dynamic range except for any phase noise on the DBM LO.  The si570 looks like an interesting source if it is as good as they claim. wa1gfz
