[hpsdr] HPSDR Signal Overload ( In the digital processing???)

Just in order to keep things straight, this forum subject has evolved so 
it is now addressing two different subjects.

The original subject addresses a "strange" phenomena that appears to be 
some sort of overload, but is unlikely to be ADC overload.  Therefore 
all of the front end prefilter and attenuation/preamp on/off discussions 
do not apply.

The second subject addresses ADC overload and the various 
methods/options to prevent it from happening.  As has been stated, one 
of the prime purposes of Alex is to address this situation.
