[hpsdr] Metis - what am I doing wrong?!

Hmmm...

Having shaken off Montezuma, at least to the extent that I feel safe disappearing down the garden to my shack, I installed Metis and a new Netgear GS105 5 port gigabit switch. Installation is as per Figure 2 on page 5 of Metis user manual.

On power up of the hardware Metis appears to get an IP address from my DHCP server and the LEDs settle down to:

14	Slow flash
15	Occasional/random flash
16	-
17	Occasional/random flash
22	-
12	-
11	ON
13	-
21	-
20	ON
19	-
18	-
23	2Hz flash (heart-beat?)

John's HPSDRProgrammer is able to discover Metis and shows me a MAC address and the IP address supplied by my DHCP server - IP is in the correct range.

So far so good. I ran PowerSDR (KD5TFD 2Feb2011b) and selected Connection Type Metis (Ethernet) in Setup and Apply but the Metis Address IP & MAC addresses both remain steadfastly at all zeros.

I dismissed PowerSDR and cycled power on the hardware (later I even restarted WinXP) but on starting up PowerSDR again the Metis Address still shows all zeros and trying to Start PowerSDR gets me, after a several second delay, a message to the effect that HPSDR hardware was not detected and was it connected and powered on? PowerSDR also shows all the installed boards as having version zero installed.

Wondering if I needed Metis_V1.1 I successfully ran HPSDRProgrammer and installed V1.1 though I haven't been able to verify that that is what is loaded on Metis.

I've read and re-read the Metis user manual until I can almost recite it verbatim but can't see what I might be doing wrong.

It appears that although HPSDRProgrammer can see Metis PowerSDR can't.

Help - please!

Cheers & 73
