Joe

so far I have had no issues updating the metis board or mercury using
HPSDRProgrammer under winxp and using a dedicated ethernet port
connection/fixed IP to the hpsdr.

So much easier than the previous methods

Hi Berndt,

Like you, but unlike many others of course, I have not had much
success getting HPSDRProgrammer to work here. I've tried direct
connections to the PC and connections through my LinkSys switch with a
variety of cables with not much success. Usually I can't detect the
Metis board in Metis Programmer mode, or any other board if in JTAG
Programmer mode, but sometimes the program appears to finish
"successfully" in Metis Programmer mode but does not actually update
the firmware on the board.

I'm using Win XP x64 and HPSDRProgrammer v1.0 has worked best for me
so far in that once or twice I was able to update Metis firmware
successfully but none of the versions has been able successfully
update any other board but Metis. I haven't figured this out yet. I
must use the Quartus II Programmer with a blaster cable or the Program-
Mercury-EPCS16.bat method to update Mercury, presently.
