Well I didn't want to do it that way either! The initial plan was to
switch the preamp in/out of circuit using a relay. Lyle re-layed the PCB
three times from memory but we could not get an acceptably low spur level.
The current method does degrade the BDR by a small amount but the end
result is still pretty good.
So if you want to re-label the preamp on/off to reflect what actually
happens....go ahead....make my day!
