[hpsdr] TAPR Hermes J15 problem? Possible Solution

I am process of making a break out box for J16 with PTT out for linear and control jacks for Hercules and Alex.
I have a matching Hammond enclosure just a bit smaller. J16 will have short 26 pin ribbon connector to smaller box.
Think of a short U connection with smaller box on top of Hermes.
I will extend Alex connections up through top of Hermes using female headers, they will be just below top cover.
Then come out bottom of smaller box with male connections to small PC perf board.
The smaller Hammond box will "plug into" top of Hermes box to make a clean connection with no need for hooded header as there will be only one way to plug it in.
Nice weather here this weekend for some RC flying(and UGA plays at 4 today) so it may take a week to get some pictures.
Should make a nice "clean" set up with minimum cables flying around!!
