I agree with Sid, using Hermes as a VNA is totally feasible. I see the QVNA C++ source code from Stefan, DL2STG, is available which would make a very good starting point.
Starting point? looks like if you can get a sample stream in to the computer it's done. Thanks for the pointer.

BTW, the "Q" seems to be there because he used the QT graphic library which is good because it makes the software portable. Should run on (of course) Linux but also Mac and Windows.
