Larry and Alberto,

It is more than likely that the data rates were designed to allow export via VAC to other
audio processing programs.  Hence these 'so-called sound card era' data rates.  They are
not so 'antique' when you consider compatibility with other applications...

You are both more than welcome to devote your efforts to modify the firmware to provide
other options.  Are you familiar with the 'fable of Henney Penney'? (who will help me
raise the wheat?  Etc.?)
