[hpsdr] Power requirements? ...

Hi Luke,

I think the PicoPSU will deliver enough power to run HPSDR (without amp)
but I noticed some noise on 10 and 6m bands which changed with input
voltage.

I therefore decided to go for the ' M4-ATX, 250w output, 6v to 30v' in a
shielded area within the enclosure away from Mercury and Atlas. The noise
on 10&6m disappeared and I'm also driving the PennyWhistle Amp (20W) with
it. An additional benefit is - you can run it with less than 12V.

Subject: [hpsdr] Power requirements? ...

Hi all,

I've scoured the hpsdr website and have not been able to find the info.

Does anyone know what sort of power requirement I will need for an HPSDR
setup?

I have now received the backplane and will be assembling it over the next
few days as time permits.

I have a small PicoPSU that will deliver 160W (200 peak) but I get the
feeling that that may not be enough.

Any thoughts on what the total power requirements might be (say with and
without the power amp extension?

Many thanks in advance ...
