FYI, it appears that the Hermes temporary freeze up issue has now been
successfully resolved. The problem was not with PowerSDR, the issue was due
to marginal timing in the Hermes FPGA.

You may expect that a new version of Hermes firmware will be released
shortly that removes the lock up problem, with addtional improvements as
well (e.g., full support of the Hermes 31 dB step attenuator, VNA code,
etc).

switch in the wiki, but his Ebay sales no longer seem to be active. I wrote
directly to W9KFB and he is no longer affiliated with Gerd. I have sent
DJ6AY an e-mail via Ebay and am awaiting a reply.

ideas, it seems like it might be necessary to build an external switch with
a 5V PCB relay powered from the Hermes and activated by its PTT. If one
upgrades the Hermes with the ANAN 10, do separate RX and TX ports become a
non-issue? I would like to try the Hermes as a QRPp transceiver with my
existing antennas.

in the VK6APH manual. I haven't downloaded the diagnostic software yet, but
I did stumble across a diagnostic tool in Win-7 that showed that there are
indeed DPCs. The problem seemed far less frequent after I upgraded to PSDR
2.5.5.

connection to my PC from the Hermes. There is no wireless or second NIC
card. I can confirm, however, that communication between Hermes and the PC
does not work if one just uses a hub.:-[
