Thanks to all,

I will check it out. I’m ntertested in listening to the 2250400 Mhz mil band
and this dongle looks promising.

I got mine from NooElec for about $17 plus shipping.

I'd like to experiment with one of these DVB-T dongles.

I want to get one with the RTL238U with R820T tuner since it starts at
24Mhz.

Does anyone know of a good source for this dongle?

Still straying off-topic...

***** High Performance Software Defined Radio Discussion List *****

The phase noise/frequency wander was with the AM/SW broadcast version

As those of us who have used the USB dongles that were mentioned in QST will

tell you, the SSB phase noise is not nearly the issue that folks make it out
to
be.

The *biggest* problem with anything Silicon Labs is finding someone to sell
you
any. Silicon Labs (and my former employer Conexant, now Entropic) just do
not
want to talk to you unless you are going to buy a few hundred thousand ICs.

As with the USB dongles, if you can find another radio that uses the chip,
you
might be able to experiment with them. If you haven't checked out the USB
dongles yet, it is well worth the time. You can't beat a receiver that
costs
$17.
