Hi Mike,

Thanks for the clarifications Joe,

Apologies for the late reply, it has been a little crazy at my end,

The ANAN-100D provides direct Rx1 out via the "RX BYPASS" Connector,
both receivers are grounded during Tx to prevent ADC overload,
however, one can use the

"disable ANAN PA" checkbox to prevent this from happening, The XVTR Tx
provides Tx out at 0-8dBm levels, so yes the ANAN-100D can be used
with Phil's

VNA software,

Abhi

Hi Mike,

I haven't seen a response to your question so I'll say something.
Fundamentally, the Angelia hardware and the current (v1.6) firmware
for Angelia are perfectly compatible with the VNA program and it
should work with the Angelia board just as it does with Hermes, as far
as the Angelia board itself is concerned.

BUT, looking at the back panel of the ANAN-100D in the Apache Labs
photo of the unit and the schematic , I don't see that the Angelia
board has routings for both the Tx and Rx1 from the Angelia board to
connectors on the back panel of the ANAN-100D enclosure so it is
possible that VNA might not be able to work "out of the box" as it is
configured from the Apache Labs facility. Therefore, you should
direct your question directly to Abhi, I think, in case I'm wrong
about the cabling/switching options in their ANAN-100D unit.

If you have no qualms about opening your unit and providing direct
output/input connections to/from the Angelia board Tx and Rx1, yes
certainly, VNA will work. There is nothing fundamentally missing in
the Angelia hardware or firmware. The only question is whether or not
the internal cabling/switching within ANAN-100D allows access to the
Tx and Rx1 connectors on Angelia to permit operation as a VNA.

Hope that info helps you a little bit.
