[hpsdr] Pre-Distortion

Some of us already have taps in place for signal monitoring -- what is the actual desired tap level at the output to the receiver?

Hi Pete,

1)The pre-distortion method needs also a modified FPGA code which is at this time only available for the Hermes board. I'm rather
sure that the other OpenHPSDR exciter boards will follow.
2)I don't know whether any of the testers has used a tube amplifier in the chain. Basically it should work. You are right, the
sampler has to be inserted at the end of the amplifier chain directly into the feeder.

Just a general question or two on the pre-distortion feature:

1) Will this be applicable to Atlas/Mercury/Penny based systems too or is it just for Hermes based systems?

2) Does the number of amplifiers in the chain matter - for instance my Penelope drives Munin which in turn drives my AL-811H (via
Alex) - so I'm assuming the TX signal going to the antenna is where the sampling and feedback would take place.

Thanks,

Pete, N3EVL
