TS-2014-Apr-12
20:31:44> *** You are now talking in channel: "OpenHPSDR"
21:08:08> "Bill - KD5TFD": Congrats
21:08:22> "Warren - NR0V": Great news Scotty!
21:08:28> "John - AJ6BC": Did everyone hear about that
Heartbleed bug with OpenSSL? OpenSSL is used by most web-servers.
21:08:31> "Bill - KD5TFD": Will you be signing copies at Dayton
21:08:37> "John - AJ6BC": And - great news Scotty!
21:08:56> "Bill - KD5TFD": Please no more heartbleed .. all
heartbleed all the time last few days
21:09:19> "John - AJ6BC": Yeah, have you actually seen the
offending code in OpenSSL?
21:09:34> "Scotty - WA2DFI": Thanks!
21:10:05> "Bill - KD5TFD": I've read the synopsis .. essentially
they blew in doing their own malloc cache is my understanding
21:11:18> "John - AJ6BC": I do have a server that does use
OpenSSL - but it is for SVN only and I ran that scan on it - it
was OK but I will update the server soon. Running Visual SVN
and that is the only port exposed.
21:12:39> "Bill - KD5TFD": I work on a few prod's where vendors
have embedded OpenSSL in the lib they give us ... mostly client
side stuff, so less of a concern than a server
21:13:20> "Bill - KD5TFD": It does make me happy most of the
money/finance things I use seem to have gone to 2 factor auth
21:14:50> "John - AJ6BC": Hope it isn't a Red Herring where
SATAN (Security Administrator Tool for Analyzing Networks) is
sucking up user passwords --- ... - Hi!
21:24:57> "John - AJ6BC": INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!
