[hpsdr] PICO or LPU supply?

Hi MIke,

If you are planning on using more than a minimum number of boards on the Atlas bus you probably don’t want to use either the LPU or the picoPSU as those power supplies have relatively low current output capability and the current required by a full complement of boards (such as multiple Mercury boards, Excalibur, etc) on the bus can exceed the maximum ratings for those small power supplies. As in Alberto’s case, I also use an actual computer power supply, which plugs nicely onto the power receptacle on the Atlas board (by design, of course!) using the existing power cables on the computer power supply, to ensure that there is sufficient current capability for the needs of everything on the the rather heavily populated Atlas bus here. I also do not experience any spurious signal effects when using the switching computer power supply. Works just fine and it’s an inexpensive solution.
