[hpsdr] PowerSDR, cuSDR - dual/triple RX

Hi Georg,

The dual and triple Mercury firmware and software programs on my website (www.k5so.com) are not compatible with the latest openHPSDR PowerSDR versions nor are they compatible with the latest openHPSDR firmware versions for Mecury, Penelope, and Metis. Indeed, the programs on my website predate the current openHPSDR programs significantly.

However, the firmware and software on the site still do constitute a compatible and complete set of code that can be used successfully with triple Mercury boards but you must use the k5so.com website code in all of the boards and the PowerSDR variant from the website, not the current openHPSDR code.

It is my intention to update the triple Mercury programs on my website to be compatible with the latest openHPSDR software and firmware as time permits but this intended update has not yet been done.

NEVERTHELESS, the triple Mercury PowerSDR programs and firmware that are located on my website (since Dec 2011) do work with triple Mercury boards, Metis (or Ozy), and Penelope as long as you load the Metis (v1.8), Mercury (v7.3), and Penelope (v1.7) into your boards as specified on the website and run the version of PowerSDR that is on the website with those boards, just as has always been the case. They all still work fine together.

You cannot, however, use the latest official and public openHPSDR firmware and software with the triple Mercury programs that exists on my website. My intention is to update the code on my website to make it at least compatible with the latest openHPSDR firmware for Metis (and Ozy), Mercury, and Penelope, but as I said this has not yet been done.

If you wish to use the triple Mercury board DF (direction finding) PowerSDR program or the triple Mercury Rx beam steering program on my website you must load the firmware specified on the website for Metis, Mercury, and Penelope; just as before.

At the present time you may not use a mixture of the latest openHPSDR PowerSDR versions and latest openHPSDR firmware for the boards, you must use the complete set of board firmware that is on the website for download to be able to run the triple Mercury DF and beam steering programs that are located there.

I hope this explains the situation for you. The DF and Rx beam steering programs located on my website are NOT part of the official openHPSDR software suite, although the code is certainly open source. The DF and Rx beam steering programs are simply private variants of HPSDR code which I happened to produce earlier in case someone was interested in using them. That remains the case today.
