[hpsdr] Sensitivity of dual mercury system differs significantly

Hi Robin,

thanks for your nice comment. Well, my panels are pretty easy to
fabricate. I bought a powder coating gun and powder at eastwood company
(http://www.eastwood.com/paints/hotcoat-powder-coating/powder-coat-guns.html).
further more a kitchen stove from the flee market.
With this equipment and high pressure air from my compressor powder
coating is easier than air painting. To protect my garage, I made a
small cabinet with an exhauster, where the plates are placed for
coating. Afterwords you put it into the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes
at about
220 degrees centigrade, depending on the powder chosed. The surface of
the coated piece is more robust than normal painting and it is faster done.
The engraving was done by a local professional engraver because I don´t
have a graving machine, yet.

On the internet you will find a lot of descriptions, how to do powder
coating. I even powder coat my tools for various machines.
I preferred a gun with pressured air instead of an electrical one
because, you are able to coat pieces with lot of edges, where
the electrical one doesn´t work.

Unfortunately I can't answer your questions, but I wondered if you could help me with a simple question instead?Did you use a commercial service to craft the lovely blue front panels on your rack mounted enclosures? If so, would you mind sharing details of what service you used?

>>> Hello,
>>>
>>> during my initial tests with my dual transverter system on 2m, I realized that my dual mercury system with Metis has unequal sensitivity. The difference between mercury one and two is about 20dB (measured without Alex after running through the calibration routine). The attenuation for RX1 and RX2 is set to 0dB in PowerSDR mRX PS v3.2.9(2/23/14). The two mercuries are set up as Joe(K5SO) proposed for a clock feed of two mercuries.

My above mentioned dual system has a noisefloor at about -110dBm on both receivers. I have no explanation why a dual system should be worse. Any idea?
