there are loads of Parallella boards being used quite successfully.

You may also be interested in another "Supercomputer" board comparing 
itself to the Cray-S1, the new "Nvidia Jetson TK1".  it also boots 
instantly into "tegra-Linux" (Ubuntu 14.04) and has USB3 as well as 
Gigabit LAN.  It offers OpenGL 4.4 as well as a OpenCL CUDA 6.0 full 
programming environment, and uses a new Cortex A15 CPU and 16GB eMMC.
