[hpsdr] CW Latency

Hi Jim,

For practice I just set the Drive level to zero – that way you don’t generate any RF.

Once we have the Tx delays resolved, by modifying the way the Drive level is set and, if then necessary, moving the CW generation into the FGPA, we will have another look at the Rx code.

Whilst FIR filters are available that have lower latency we still need to read a buffer of data before processing so there will be a limit to how low a latency we can obtain.

Phil, your efforts on CW latency sound very promising. Your timing could not have been better. I am attempting to use Iambic keyer functionally for the first time and need lots of practice. Can you add a “check box” for “practice” which would not enable transmitting? Otherwise, I and others(?) am using the PTT pedal, T/R relay, and a Dummy Load to practice. Does that create issues? Is full-break-in achievable?
