Bert,
I'd go for more cores (preference). More cores = more threads and
that can be helpful while running multiple apps.
I've got an 8 core AMD 9590 which rarely goes over 20% utilization
with two bands, HRD, digital master, and VAC running- while watching a
movie... .
Either of those chips would perform just fine.
