[hpsdr] Calculating engine

Dear Jim,
Most likely, only the software that the German ham has created will, at this time, take
advantage of that. What you would need for the upcoming software is an NVidia video card
with lots of GPUs on it. Most likely a computer of that vintage would not do you a lot,
as it predated some of the standards (such as NVidia CUDA) which the software would most
likely use.

Of course, if you rewrite software, you can make it run on almost anything within reason.
That said, the modern video cards are much more powerful than they were 7 years ago.

Just my opinion, which I probably give too freely...

George k9TRV

All:

I have been handed an opportunity to inherit a 2009-vintage tower
computer with two gaming video cards, which can (allegedly) be
repurposed as calculating engines. No further information, yet.

The donor thinks he can provide me instructions on how to do the repurpose.

Questions:

1. Has anyone done this?

2. Will HPSDRmRX benefit? I ask because the Intel I put together that
turned out to have insufficient floating point resources is now the
spousal unit's internet appliance. If the software can exploit such a
calculating engine, this older machine just might work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks & 73,

Jim
