[hpsdr] Setup Question

Jim,

You don't need the 2 tone test to set amplifier gains. The 2 tone test is
for linearity determination. You can use a single carrier generated with
'tune' or 'key' at the CWX window. Note 100 per cent single carrier power is
equal 100 per cent PEP of the 2 tone signal.

For tune purposes it is appropriate to select a fix level of power (check
box 5-10). For amp gain adjust 'Use Drive Power' is comfortable.

All:

I'm using the two-tone test to set amplifier gains. Procedure I've been
given:

1. Set Drive to 100

2. Start two-tone test.

3. Look at output power.

4. Change amp gain in PA Settings until I see 50 watts.

5. Just discovered another variable: RF Power, and a check box for Use
Drive Power.

How should this be set to properly set amplifier gains??

Thanks & 73,

Jim
